Culturally Connected
Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
In short: we collect only what you choose to send us through our forms, plus anonymous page-view counts. There are no accounts, ads, or trackers, and we never sell your information. The digital timelines don't ask students for any personal information. They use a single cookie to remember an access code.
Who we are
Culturally Connected Consulting, LLC (“Culturally Connected,” “we,” “us”) runs this website, www.culturallyconnectedconsulting.com, and the Culturally Connected Historical Timelines digital access service (the “digital timelines”). This policy covers both. Questions? Email culturallyconnectedconsulting@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and inquiry form: your name, email address, organization or district, role, topic, and message. We receive your inquiry by email.
- Newsletter sign-up: your first name and email address, which we keep on our email newsletter list.
- Digital timeline access codes: the access code you enter. We don't store the code itself. Instead, your browser keeps a signed cookie recording which codes were redeemed, so you don't have to re-enter them. The digital timelines have no accounts and never ask for a name or email address.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We use this only to run the services and keep them secure, including limiting repeated form submissions and access-code attempts.
- Visitor statistics: this website uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and does not identify you or track you across other sites. We see only totals, such as pages viewed, referring sites, countries, and device types. The digital timelines do not use visitor statistics.
- No advertising tracking: we do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide professional learning, bulk orders, and other services you ask about.
- To send newsletters you signed up for. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
- To provide digital timeline access to the people a code was issued to.
- To keep our services secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build profiles.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies. The digital timelines set one strictly necessary cookie, dsh_timeline_access, which remembers the access codes you redeemed for 30 days. Deep Dive results are kept only in your open browser tab and disappear when you close it.
Some pages load content from other services. Embedded videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube may store information in your browser once you play a video.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run our services. They process information only on our behalf:
- Vercel: website and digital timeline hosting and security.
- Resend: email delivery and our newsletter list.
- Google: our email inbox (Gmail), embedded YouTube videos, and the Gemini AI service behind the timelines’ Deep Dive feature. When you request a Deep Dive, our server sends Google the text of that timeline entry. It sends nothing about you.
- Amazon: book purchases. If you follow a “Purchase on Amazon” link, Amazon’s privacy notice applies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
Students and children
The digital timelines are designed for classroom use. They do not ask students to create accounts or provide any personal information. Schools and educators distribute access codes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website forms, and we do not receive student education records. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Schools and districts: we are glad to review and sign your student data privacy agreement. Contact us to request one.
How long we keep information
- Inquiries: as long as needed to respond and to keep ordinary business records.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Access cookie: 30 days in your browser, or until you clear your cookies.
- Server logs: for the limited period our hosting provider keeps them.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us, and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), signed access cookies, rate limiting, and security protections on our sites, and we limit who can see the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date.
